Purpose
To assist in the promotion and protection of the identity and image of the company and to promote the brand, products and services through direct PR and through activities designed to support the company’s corporate and marketing objectives.
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the media and public relations manager, responsibilities will include active participation in the development and implementation of public relations and media programmes, with specific responsibilities in consumer PR, media monitoring, event management, community relations and internal communications.
Profile
The successful applicant is unlikely to have less than three years experience at an account executive level and should be a creative and innovative PR professional who thrives on challenge and has a strong desire to succeed.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Proven experience in the development and implementation of public relations plans and programmes. Excellent written and communication skills
Qualifications
The successful applicant is likely to have a degree in communications, public relations or journalism and/or a professional qualification in PR or journalism. Proven experience and achievement will be key.

Marketing Assistant, Public Relations – Bank of Scotland
Reporting to the public relations manager, the purpose of this job is to support the PR manager and PR senior executive in the day-to-day execution of the Bank’s PR plan and take responsibility for administrative duties in the PR team.
Requirements
o At least one year’s experience in a PR/communications role either in-house or agency
o Ideally hold a third level and/or PR qualification
o Computer literate in Word and Excel
o Good knowledge of PowerPoint essential
o Strong organisation and communication skills
Responsibilities
o Main responsibility will be to assist the PR manager and PR senior executive in the day-to-day execution of the BOSI PR plan
o Activities will include: Media monitoring, issuing of press releases, issuing of media event invitations, assisting in media event management, updating PR calendars, assisting in drafting presentations and PR plans
o The role will also involve administrative work including the processing of invoices and organisation of PR documents and files.
The chosen candidate will need to be organised and structured in how to complete the above responsibilities. They will also need to have a good interest in PR and a desire to progress in a growing PR team.

Volunteering opportunities for PR and events management students
The Migrant Rights Centre Ireland is looking for dynamic volunteers of all
ages who love organising. We are looking for someone who is a self starter
with excellent interpersonal skills who can work both independently and as
part of a team.
Each volunteer will organise an event to raise much needed funds for the
Migrant Rights Centre Ireland. The tasks will involve: sourcing venues,
attendees, publicity, sponsorship, and looking after the event on the day.
The Migrant Rights Centre Ireland is a community based organisation working
with and for migrant workers and their families who are in situations of
vulnerability in Ireland.
We run a Drop-in Centre in Dublin 1 to support migrant workers and their
families by giving them advice and information. We run a community work
programme that creates a space for migrant workers to come together to talk
about and analyse their experiences as migrants in Ireland and to enable and
strengthen the migrant voice in Ireland. We have a Policy Engagement
programme which focuses on publicising the positive contribution of migrant
workers to Irish society and on lobbying the government to allow migrant
workers and their families equal access to social protection and human
rights in Ireland.
